DC ELOPEMENT AT LINCOLN MEMORIAL

Updated: Sep 20, 2021

The DMV area has so many gorgeous locations for photoshoots! Check out our sunrise session at the Lincoln Memorial with Sarah and Franklin and some frequently asked questions for preparing for your photoshoot.

I highly recommend shooting at the Lincoln Memorial first thing in the morning! The lighting is great, it's not as hot and the area isn't overly crowded. It's even better if you could shoot during a weekday morning because there's usually less people around that would be in the back of your photos.

Timing?

Lighting is everything in photography! My favorite time to shoot is right after sunrise or a few hours before sunset. I'm here to help answer any questions you may have. I'm available for consultations via email, phone, video chatting, and in-person to fit your busy schedule!

Permit?

This is a great location for elopement and engagement photography. You will need a photography permit through the National Park Service to shoot here and in many areas in DC. I can help you with the process. If you choose to shoot without a permit, you run the risk of your photo session getting cut short by the NPS. The Library of Congress is a nice location that does not require a permit. Check out a bridal shoot I did HERE.

Parking?

We all know parking in DC can be a hassle at times. It's great to arrive 10 mins early to find parking. I'd recommend using Uber or simply parking on Ohio Drive and walking over to the Lincoln Memorial. Don't forget to bring flats if you plan on wearing heels for your photoshoot!
